June, 2020

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our online concert and lecture series in May. As we continue to navigate the pandemic, we are dedicated to continue providing wonderful virtual programming online. We are proud to be co-sponsoring the “Three Thursdays in June” event with B’nai Zion Congregation and Agudath Achim.

We are proud to support the annual ISJL Education Conference taking place online, June 28th, 2020. For more information on the conference, visit the ISJL website.

The premiere of the film “Unexpected Modernism: The Wiener Brother’s Story” has been rescheduled for the Fall, and will NOT take place in June as expected. We will let you know the official rescheduled date as the event gets closer.

Mark Your Calendars! Our Annual meeting will take place on Sunday, July 12th at 10:00am via Zoom and is open to all Federation members. Details can be found here.

In an attempt to keep our community as safe as possible, and by following the example of all Jewish summer camps in our region and nationwide, we are saddened to share that our annual summer camp known as Camp Chai will not being able to take place in person this year. Since we know how meaningful a camp experience is, we are proud to be offering a VIRTUAL Camp Chai this summer instead. The camp will take place entirely online for two weeks M-F, July 27th - August 7th.

Camp Chai is for campers age 3-13 and will be FREE for all Federation members. Not a member? Become a member today! Federation membership is available to anyone who has donated $25 or more in the past fiscal year. You can make your donation today online, through our Facebook page or by calling the office (318-868-1200).

Know any Jewish high-school students looking to make a little money this summer? We’re still looking for camp counselors! Call the office or email our programming director, Rabbi Feivel at [email protected] for more information.

Times are particularly tough for many of us right now and Federation is here to help. If you or someone you know needs assistance during these difficult times, please reach out to our Executive Director, Bethany Sorkey by calling the office to see how we can be of support.
