"Who Will Write Our History" Documentary

Wednesday, April 15th, 2020

This documentary tell the story of the 1940 Oyneg Shabes (a clandestine group) who vowed to defeat the Nazis lies and propaganda with pen and paper, not guns or fists. There will be a dutch treat dinner at the Bentley Hotel at 5 pm, the film will start at 7 pm, and then an question and answer session with Roberta Grossman, the film's producer and director. Holocaust Remembrance Service

The 37th Annual Holocaust Remembrance Service of Northwest Louisiana As the Jewish people, we know all too well the injustice and hatred that exists in this world. Join us as we come together for a service that is welcoming to all faiths and people who wish to remember the lives that were lost during the Holocaust, and are committed to strive to obliterate injustice wherever it is found. This year's service will be held at: Broadmoor United Methodist Church 3715 Youree Drive Shreveport, LA 71105 The service usually lasts one to one and a half hours. Dress should be appropriately respectful for a house of worship. More information can be found on the official website: HolocaustRemembranceService.org Middle and High School Literary Competitions Call all middle and high schools students and parents: once again, we are having a Holocaust literary competition. This competition is a great way to learn more about not only the Holocaust, but the very nature of hate, and how we can work together to ensure such tragedies never again occur in the world. The competition includes real cash prizes, and have different topics and guidelines for middle and high school students. Wiener were Fellows of the American Institute of Architects, brothers, and residents of Shreveport, Louisiana. Following a 1931 voyage of discovery to the Europe’s most prestigious design school, the Bauhaus, they became the most innovative and prolific modern architects in the American South and transformed our community in the process.
