Jewish Summer Camps
Camp Chai is our very own annual summer camp for children ages 3-13. It is a day camp based in Shreveport. In 2020, the camp was held online due to the pandemic, but the camp is typically held in person.
"Jacobs Camp is the Reform Jewish Movement’s summer camp serving the Deep South: Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Central & Western Tennessee and the Florida Panhandle. Since 1970, Jacobs has provided a caring Jewish community that has become a second home to many. Children from URJ congregations across the Deep South join together each summer to experience the fun and magic of Jewish camping."
The Ramah Camping Movement is the national camping arm of Conservative Judaism. With 10 overnight camps across the country, the closest to our region is Camp Ramah Darom.
"Camp Ramah Darom is a place where laughter abounds, friendships are formed, everyone feels welcome and each day brings new opportunities to celebrate Jewish life. Here, children have fun and are challenged to reach new heights by our caring and supportive staff. From sports to arts to outdoor adventures, Ramah Darom infuses a love of Israeli culture and Jewish heritage into everything we do."
